What is your photography style?

I like to shoot a mixture of photojournalism and creative portraiture, which means I focus on candids for natural photos.  I will follow you around capturing your moments as it unfolds blending into the background.  I love getting real moments, smiles and tears.  I also like to gently guide you during some creative shots.  I enjoy being different and plan on having tons of fun with plenty of laughter.

How many images will we receive?

My goal is to tell your story… fully, completely and beautifully. In doing so, I emphasize quality over quantity, employing a “less is more” philosophy. I would rather give you a couple hundred “omgwow” photographs, than a couple thousand “so-so-mediocre” ones.

My wedding clients usually receive 500 to 1000 images, depending on the nature of their celebration and other photo sessions about 35-50 images.

When do we get to see our photos?

Photos are presented to clients 8 weeks after wedding and 2 weeks after all other sessions. A lot of love and care goes into editing each and every photo to make sure it’s beautiful and ready to print or add to an album.

I would like to book you … now what?

Awesome! I am so honored that you would like me to capture your special day.  I require a signed wedding contract and a 30% non-refundable retainer to secure your date. As soon as those are received you are marked in the calendar and the excitement begins.

What kind of equipment do we use?

While a great photographer can take incredible pictures with just about anything, having the right tools and knowing how to use them only pushes the potential of great photos further.  I shoot exclusively with Canon professional gear and all pro series lenses.

Do I have back-up equipment?

Absolutely.  When I am photographing such an important day and only have one shot at it, you have to make sure you have back-ups of everything.  Camera bodies, lenses, memory cards, batteries, flashes, lighting accessories, you name it – I have it covered.

Do I offer discounts for weekday, Sunday or off-season weddings?

Unfortunately not.  Almost all of my clients become friends after a wedding day is done.  Out of love and respect for my clients I do not feel that it’s fair to charge some more than others.  The prices you see are what I offer to all of my clients at the time of booking.

Do you shoot with an assistant?

I always shoot with an assistant/2nd photographer during wedding with rare exceptions. This frees me up to focus on shooting and looking for special moments while ensuring that between the two of us, we don’t miss the important ones. The 2nd shooter offers a different but complementary perspective and allows us to work efficiently throughout the entire day.

All other photo sessions I work alone.

What should we wear to our portrait session?

Most importantly wear something you feel beautiful and comfortable in, as it will show through in the images that you feel confident. That goes for everyone! And certainly don’t feel like you have to match unless you want to. It’s fun to see your individual styles too. Also avoid logos, or clothes that are so thin they might be see-through…unless that’s the look you’re going for!

What about rights to the pictures?

As industry standard I retain rights to the pictures themselves but give you full printing rights. I put a lot of effort, love and care into your photographs and would love nothing more than for you to share them with your family and friends!  Feel free to share them whether it is through albums, prints, your online gallery, e-mail, Facebook or your personal blog.  While not necessary, if you are posting online, I would wholehearted appreciate if you could give me a little shout out so that your peeps will know who to get ridiculously awesome photographs from.  😉  I would also appreciate if you could avoid cropping or altering the photos you post online (unless necessary) as they represent my work and I go to great lengths to bring out the very best in every photo.
